Zoom Integration with the Oracle Digital Assistant

You now (since 23.10) have the capability to customize a digital assistant to seamlessly integrate with Zoom Meetings video conferences.

This integration is facilitated through the Oracle Digital Assistant for Zoom app, available for installation via Zoom’s App Marketplace. Once installed, users gain the ability to engage in real-time conversations with your digital assistant directly within the app while participating in an active Zoom meeting.

Please be aware that full administrative control of Zoom is necessary for the following procedures. If you are utilizing a corporate version of Zoom and lack administrative access, these methods will not be applicable. To do testing without navigating through any approval processes, I personally downloaded Zoom on a separate machine using my own account.

Go to https://marketplace.zoom.us/ and search for Oracle Digital Assistant

You will need to allow the access between both apps.

Zoom Admin

Once you open the Zoom app, under the option Apps you can select the one for Oracle Digital Assistant.

Let’s take a second here before the next step. At this point you should have a running ODA Skill/DA and a Channel configured for Zoom in ODA.

You pick up the details from the channel configuration and use them in the next screen you get from the Zoom app configuration.

Quite straightforward…

…however note that channel id and channel secret appear in reversed order below – a note of caution for those that do a copy paste without looking 🙂 which is exactly why I got the below error.

From a configuration point of view this is really easy – the core of the effort is to build a Digital Assistant to assist in Zoom meetings. The example below is quire simple and allows us to create notes and reminders, and to see any pending actions on users.
